"Why I’m giving to Kappa Sigma” - Brad Robinette
Thirty five years this coming fall I headed south from Atlanta looking for Statesboro and Georgia Southern College (a long time ago, of course I think it was Georgia Teachers College when T-Bond enrolled). As I recall it was September 26th and quite a sweltering day. Within a matter of days Steve Bostock introduce me to his brother "the Troll" and the likes of Allyn the A-Robb, Manley Matthews, Stick Allison, Batman Batastini, Gary Smith, Rick Beene, and the incomparable Mad dog Lee Murray. As temperatures fell that autumn a group of us including Chip Howard, Jack Roche, Wadley Gaston, Lip McClain, Dale Stoddard, Hal Giradeau (I think that WAS the spelling), Keithen Tucker, Hillbilly Bear Richard Bush, and many many more started to forge friendships that were later cemented for life by the bond and brotherhood of Kappa Sigma. I not only have lasting memories (lots of stories - let's share at the 40th Anniversary Reunion), I am extremely grateful knowing that our fraternity has played a major role in shaping who I am today (lord knows I did not get much of an education). I have moved about the country in my professional career and have had little chance to participate in Kappa Zeta Alumni activities. When I received the capitol campaign information, I reflected again on what it meant to be a Kappa Sig and am proud to be able to give back to this great fraternity and be a part of the continuing legacy at Georgia Southern. Please give our “Building for the Future, 40th Anniversary Capitol Campaign”, your careful consideration.
Reflect and dig deep!
